Firefighters are battling the Salt 14-2 Fire, which has burned 13,500 acres in Fresno County since igniting on Tuesday, Sept. 2, CalFire officials said Thursday.
The wildfire, located along Jacalitos Creek Road near Coalinga, remains active and is only 7% contained.
Steep terrain and winds pushing the fire upslope have made access difficult, prompting the CalFire Fresno-Kings Unit to deploy additional air and ground resources. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Evacuation orders are in place for zones P18B, P25, P27A, and P28, while evacuation warnings affect zones P18A, P24B, and P27B.
Officials continue to urge residents in affected areas to follow evacuation instructions and stay updated through local alerts.
