A convicted felon was arrested after police discovered he was driving a stolen rental box truck and in possession of firearms, ammunition and narcotics, the Fresno Police Department said Monday.

Central District officers were patrolling near Shaw Avenue and First Street when they stopped to check on the occupied vehicle in a parking lot, police said.

Officers determined the truck had been reported stolen out of Southern California.

Inside the vehicle, officers found drugs, brass knuckles and two loaded firearms — one of which had also been reported stolen.

The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested on charges including auto theft, being a felon in possession of ammunition and firearms, and multiple firearm and narcotics-related offenses.
