Among the violations were five arrests for the use of fake IDs as part of a “Trap Door” operation, where officers work with local bars and clubs to identify minors attempting to use false identification, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement.
The remaining arrests were for public intoxication and minors in possession of alcohol, authorities said.

“We partner with businesses and organizations in the community for these operations to help keep minors and the public safe,” said Corporal Sean O’Brien.
Those caught using a false ID may face a $250 fine, 32 hours of community service, and a one-year driver’s license suspension, police said.

“With help from local law enforcement and participating businesses we can reduce underage drinking and the risks associated with it to keep communities safe,” said ABC Director Joseph McCullough.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about a quarter of fatal crashes involve underage drinking. The Clovis enforcement efforts were funded by a grant from the ABC Alcohol Policing Partnership program.
