A suspected DUI driver has been arrested following a deadly collision involving five vehicles early Sunday morning, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement.

Police responded to the intersection of Fowler and Gettysburg avenues shortly after 2 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about the crash.

Officers found five vehicles involved, with injuries reported among drivers and passengers.

Investigators determined that a Hyundai traveling westbound on Gettysburg at high speed ran a red light and collided with another Hyundai entering the intersection from Fowler on a green light.

The impact caused both vehicles to spin out, striking three parked cars in two nearby driveways.

Adult Woman Passenger Dies

An adult female passenger in the second Hyundai was killed in the crash, police said. The driver of that vehicle remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The suspected DUI driver, identified as Fnu Himanshu, 19, of Clovis, and two passengers in his vehicle were transported to local hospitals.

Himanshu is expected to face multiple felony charges once he is released from medical care, authorities said.
