Vice President Kamala Harris has gained a lead over former President Donald Trump among suburban voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos analysis.
Harris now holds 47% support among suburban voters, compared to Trump’s 41%, representing a significant shift since President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid in July.

Harris Overtakes Trump Where Biden Lacked
The poll shows Harris has also overtaken Trump among middle-income households, with a 45% to 43% advantage. Previously, Trump led Biden among this group 44% to 37%.
The shift suggests that Harris’s focus on economic issues and middle-class growth is resonating with voters.
While Harris holds a modest three-point lead over Trump nationally, the outcome of the Nov. 5 election is expected to hinge on key battleground states such as Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

“Her focus on affordability has been highly effective in narrowing Trump’s advantage on inflation and the economy,” said David Wasserman of the Cook Political Report.
He noted Harris’s appeal among affluent suburbanites and middle-income voters could be crucial, though turnout in urban and rural areas remains a key factor.
The polling includes responses from over 6,000 registered voters, with a margin of error of about 3 percentage points. Despite Harris’s gains, Trump remains favored by voters on issues like the economy and immigration, indicating a closely contested race ahead.
