Armando Castro, 30, of Fresno was arrested following a home invasion robbery and burglary.

Castro, who has a history of criminal offenses, was taken into custody and booked into Fresno County Jail on charges that include burglary, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of stolen property, the sheriff’s office reported.

The investigation unfolded on June 7 when deputies responded to an alarm near west Adams and south Cherry Avenues, just south of Easton. Tools, electric bicycles, and various items were reported stolen. Through the investigation and evidence collection, detectives identified Castro as the primary suspect.

On Tuesday, June 18, a home invasion robbery occurred near east Springfield and south East Avenues. A gunman, later identified as Castro, forced a 75-year-old woman into a room, threatening her with violence if she attempted to leave. Castro gathered valuables from the residence before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the woman escaped physical harm.

Detectives continued their probe and on Wednesday arrested Castro, who was found in possession of stolen items and a firearm. A subsequent search of Castro’s residence yielded additional stolen property linked to the burglary and the home invasion, the sheriff’s office said.
