The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted on attempted murder, torture, mayhem, and robbery charges following a violent attack in North Fork.
Erik Von Richard Haumann, 33, is wanted in connection with an attack that occurred Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators said Haumann is suspected of attacking a 75-year-old victim for an extended period during an argument while threatening to kill the victim.
The victim suffered multiple severe and permanent injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Haumann is also accused of stealing the victim’s vehicle after the attack. The vehicle has since been recovered in the Lemoore area.
Authorities believe Haumann may be headed toward the Santa Barbara area.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of attempted murder, torture, mayhem, and robbery.
Haumann is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
His whereabouts are unknown, and authorities said it is not known whether he is armed.
