Mell’s Mutts is hoping to find the perfect forever home for Ash, a friendly rescue dog whose gentle personality has won over everyone he meets.

About 5 years old, Ash is a mix of cattle dog, husky, and a splash of German shepherd. According to the rescue, he has never met a stranger and gets along with people, as well as cats.

Ash’s journey to the rescue began after he was found sitting at the end of a road with a rope dragging from his neck. He remained there for at least two months, waiting in the same spot. As winter approached, volunteers stepped in to bring him to safety.

Now, after spending the past eight months in foster care, Mell’s Mutts says Ash is ready to trade rescue life for a permanent family.

The rescue describes Ash as affectionate and easygoing, saying his favorite place is right beside the people he loves. He is happiest resting his head in someone’s lap and soaking up attention.
