Tulare County Authorities Arrest 17 During Weekend Gang Suppression Sweep

More than a dozen suspected gang members were arrested during a planned multi-agency gang suppression operation conducted across Tulare County over the weekend, authorities said.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said the operation took place Friday and Saturday and involved gang detectives from the sheriff’s office and the police departments in Porterville, Lindsay, Tulare, Visalia, Dinuba, Woodlake, Farmersville, and Exeter.

Authorities said the enforcement effort targeted criminal activity in rural areas of Tulare County and surrounding cities.

The operation resulted in more than 150 enforcement stops and 17 arrests on charges that included illegal possession of firearms, magazines, ammunition, and narcotics, as well as outstanding warrants.
