Emergency crews responded to a structure fire in the 400 block of South Gateway Drive early Wednesday morning, according to the Madera Police Department.

Police said officers and fire crews were on scene as of about 5 a.m. Wednesday. While roadways remained open, the parking lot of the affected business and surrounding businesses was impacted.

Authorities urged motorists to use caution during the morning commute and watch for emergency vehicles in the area.

Police said the fire department responded quickly, extinguished the flames and prevented further damage to neighboring businesses. No additional information was immediately released.
