Detectives with the Tulare Regional Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen pickup truck and arrested a suspect Monday afternoon in Tulare, authorities said.

At about 3:35 p.m., detectives located an occupied stolen 2006 Toyota Tacoma at the Circle K on East Prosperity Avenue. Patrol officers with the Visalia Police Department responded to assist with the investigation.

The driver, identified as Jesus Mendoza, 38, was taken into custody without incident.

Mendoza was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on suspicion of unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to police.
