The Firebaugh Police Department will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint Friday at an undisclosed location, the department said in a statement.

Uniformed officers will contact motorists traveling through the checkpoint to determine whether drivers are impaired by alcohol or drugs. Officers also will verify that motorists have valid driver’s licenses.

The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
