Fresno police cited 36 drivers and arrested four people on DUI-related charges during a focused traffic enforcement operation targeting street racing and illegal vehicle meetups Sunday evening.

The Fresno Police Department said its Traffic Unit conducted enforcement at several known street racing and meetup locations throughout the city.

Officers responded to two locations where activity had been reported, patrolled the areas and took enforcement action as needed. Police said the groups quickly dispersed.

During the operation, officers stopped 56 vehicles, issued 36 citations, towed three vehicles, and made four DUI arrests.
