The Central California Blood Center is launching its 39th Annual Pint for a Pint Blood Drive, running July 1 through Sept. 7, encouraging community members to donate blood and help save lives.
As part of the summer campaign, donors will receive a free pint of Umpqua Ice Cream and a chocolate chip cookie from The Brownie Baker. Participants will also receive a commemorative Pint for a Pint T-shirt while supplies last at donor centers.
The campaign is a partnership with Umpqua Dairy, operated by Shehadey Family Farms, and The Brownie Baker.
“For 39 years, Pint for a Pint has brought our community together to help save lives,” Central California Blood Center President and CEO Christine Hayes said. “Whether you’re a first-time donor or a longtime supporter, your donation can provide hope and healing to local patients when they need it most.”

Organizers say one blood donation can help save up to three lives.
The Central California Blood Center must collect 5,000 to 6,000 units of blood each month to meet hospital needs for trauma patients, cancer care, surgeries and chronic illnesses.
