A man fatally shot his ex-wife’s boyfriend before killing himself early Sunday morning in Hanford, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 4:12 a.m. from a residence in the 1500 block of University Avenue, where a man and woman could be heard arguing in the background, according to the Hanford Police Department.
When the first officer arrived, he heard a verbal disturbance inside the home and identified himself. Shortly afterward, the man, identified as Vincent Diaz, shot himself and died at the scene, police said.
Officers removed a woman from the residence and conducted a protective sweep, during which they found a second man, identified as Adrian Valdovinos, dead in a bedroom with gunshot wounds.
Detectives determined Diaz, the woman’s ex-husband, had forced entry into the home and shot Valdovinos, who was the woman’s current boyfriend, before turning the gun on himself, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
