Twenty new recruits, including quarterback Deagan Rose of Clovis High School, are on the way to help Fresno State football.
Head coach Matt Entz announced the 2026 recruiting class Wednesday, college football’s signing day. All are listed as three-star recruits by 247Sports, except for Fresno City transfer Ethan Rossetti — a long snapper from Buchanan High School in Clovis.
The class includes six players from the greater Central Valley and three from Omaha, Nebraska.
In addition to Rose, the Bulldogs landed QB Jacob Chambers from Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga HS.
Rose, a co-conference player of the year, passed for 11,448 yards and 112 touchdowns in his high school career. Chambers passed for 5,480 yards and 58 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs have five quarterbacks on their roster now. E.J. Warner is a senior with expiring eligibility. Carson Conklin started three games this season. Jayden Mandal, a junior, recently underwent surgery. Freshmen Jonathan Craft and Brayden Turner have not seen action so far.
The Rest of the Offense
At the skill positions, the Bulldogs added running back Jhadis Luckey out of Clayton Valley Charter HS in Hayward. He was a two-time Offensive Player of the Year and also played defensive back. He rushed for 2,173 yards his senior season.
Fresno State loses two running backs to graduation — Jonathan Arceneaux and Elijah Gilliam.
Wide receiver Xavier Owens (Los Angeles, Edna Karr HS) was an all-league receiver. Bunchie Young (Los Angeles, Western HS) caught 1,005 yards his senior year. Josiah Freeman and Jordan Brown have exhausted their eligibility.
Tight ends Dallas Gaius-Anyaegbu (Omaha/Millard South HS) and Bryce McDaniel (Hughson, California/Hughson HS) join a deep class.
Alex Rivera, 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds from Lovington, New Mexico, and Efren Siuloa, a 6-foot-2, 302-pounder from Laie, Hawai‘i, along with Rossetti join the O-line. Center Jacob Spomer and Julian Polendo are among the graduating seniors.

Who’s on the Defense?
Solomon Baker is another recruit from Millard South HS in Omaha, joining the defensive line. He recorded 7.5 sacks his senior year. Brendan Huddleston from St. Louis, was lineman of the year. Another Missourian — Jake Plummer-First — is listed as 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds. Cooper Willoughby from Utah, a region MVP with 11 sacks, rounds out the line.
Korey Foreman, Finn Claypool and Michael Jordan Jr. are among those leaving as seniors.
For linebackers, Zephaniah Sesay was a two-time all-league pick out of Hanford. Jaydon Sutko from Omaha (Elkhorn South HS) also doubled as a running back.
Defensive back Truly Bell from Antioch, was first-team all-league. Franklin Lockard from Tulare Union HS recorded 22 tackles and two interceptions his senior year. Isaiah Lucero from West Covina was first-team all-league. Chase Perino from Central Catholic HS in Modesto also plays wide receiver.
Several current Bulldog defensive backs are set to graduate — Al’zillion Hamilton, Jakari Embry, Camryn Bracha, and Ryan Wilson.
The NCAA transfer portal opens Jan. 2, 2026. 247Sports reports no Fresno State players entering so far.

Cal Poly Names Skipper Head Coach
Cal Poly named former Fresno State head coach Tim Skipper as its new head coach Wednesday.
Skipper was the Bulldogs’ interim coach last year and the interim coach this season at UCLA, posting a 3-6 record.
Subbing for an ill Jeff Tedford, Skipper won the 2023 New Mexico Bowl and went 6-7 in 2024, leading the Bulldogs to the Potato Bowl.
A former Bulldog player, Skipper spent 25 years as an interim head coach and assistant. That includes two stints with Fresno State.
“The ‘Learn by Doing’ approach and the academic excellence that has been achieved at Cal Poly have been inspiring to me for many years, and I look forward to pursuing the same type of excellence on the football field,” Skipper said in a news release.
