Fresno police are searching for a man they say shot an Uber driver after an argument during a ride in southwest Fresno on Thursday night.
Officers responded around 8:13 p.m. to a six-round ShotSpotter activation near East George Avenue and South Tupman Street, where they found the driver sitting in his vehicle, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Investigators learned the driver had picked up a man and a woman when an argument broke out inside the car. Police said the male passenger slapped the driver, who ordered both passengers out and began to drive away. When the driver told the man he planned to call police, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired, grazing the driver’s head.
The vehicle was hit at least three times.
The driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and later released.
