Northbound Interstate 5 south of Grapevine Road has been closed due to a commercial vehicle fire, the California Highway Patrol’s Fort Tejon office reported Tuesday.

Kern County Fire Department and emergency personnel are on scene battling the blaze.

Traffic is backed up in the area, and authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution while traveling through the vicinity.
