The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam in which callers claim people have warrants for missing jury duty and demand payment to avoid arrest.

Officials said they have received about five reports of the scam and urged residents not to send money or share personal information.

Instead, they recommend hanging up immediately.

If you are a victim, officials say to contact law enforcement.
