Clovis police arrested two men on Wednesday on suspicion of possessing child sexual exploitation material following tips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, authorities said.
Detectives first served a search warrant at a Fresno home and arrested Joshua Ramirez, 27. Investigators reportedly found additional illegal material on his cell phone. A second arrest was made at a business in Clovis, where Gurmeet Singh, 21, was taken into custody.
Police said the investigation stemmed from activity on the social media platforms Kik and Instagram.
Detectives urged parents to monitor their children’s online activity regularly, noting a rise in criminal behavior on Kik, Roblox, and Discord.
Clovis police said these cases are handled by specially trained detectives. They advise anyone with information about child exploitation material to contact their local law enforcement agency.
