The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified the man who drowned as Sandeep Singh, 37, of Fresno.

Original Story

A man in his 30s drowned Sunday afternoon in the Kings River at Winton Park after going under water, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man, who had been drinking alcohol and was not wearing a life jacket, was pulled from the river by two individuals shortly before 3 p.m.

Deputies and CalFire firefighters performed CPR before the man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

This marks the fifth drowning in a Fresno County waterway this year — four in rivers and one in a lake.
