A man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured one person last weekend, police said.
Officers responded to Community Regional Medical Center on July 18 at 9:37 p.m. after a walk-in gunshot victim arrived with a wound to the upper body.
Investigators said the shooting occurred near Orange and Butler avenues and that the victim had been shot by a rear passenger in a passing vehicle. A family member had transported the victim to the hospital.
Detectives later identified the vehicle used in the shooting and reviewed surveillance footage showing the suspect and victim interacting inside a nearby store.
On Wednesday, members of the Street Violence Bureau’s Tactical Team located the suspect, Jose Salcido, in a parking lot with his mother. Detectives said they saw Salcido hand her a bag that was found to contain a loaded firearm. Both were detained at the scene.

A search of a residence turned up ammunition, additional evidence, and the vehicle used in the shooting, authorities said. The firearm used in the attack remains missing.
Salcido, a convicted felon, was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and several weapons violations.
