Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in locating a man they want to interview in connection with a 2020 murder in San Joaquin.

Detectives say they are looking for Erick Javier Lopez, 25. He is not a suspect in the case, but investigators believe he may have information about the fatal shooting of Rosendo Herrera.

Shortly after midnight on Oct. 8, 2020, deputies responded to a call from a homeowner on the 9000 block of Donna Street in San Joaquin, who reported an injured man outside.

Deputies arrived to find Herrera suffering from gunshot wounds. They provided first aid until EMS arrived, but Herrera died a short time later.
