Sayed Naser, an Afghan man who worked with U.S. troops, was detained by ICE officers on June 11 after attending a mandatory immigration hearing in San Diego, CBS reported on Wednesday.

Naser, legally paroled into the U.S. in 2024, has an active asylum case and a pending Special Immigrant Visa.

Video shows him being handcuffed and escorted by agents.

His lawyer and advocates say he followed all legal protocols and has no criminal record.

Naser is being held at Otay Mesa Detention Center and could face deportation, despite threats against him by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
