An early morning fire caused significant damage to a vacant restaurant building in Fresno, the Fresno Fire Department reported.

Fire crews were called to the 3800 block of North Blackstone Avenue around 1:40 a.m. after multiple 911 callers reported smoke and flames coming from the former Jeb’s Blueberry Hill restaurant.

Firefighters found heavy fire visible from the street-facing side of the building, firefighters reported.

A total of 33 firefighters responded to the scene. No injuries were reported, but the building sustained major damage, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
