His Gang Name Is 'Goer.' Now Fresno County Man Is Going to Prison for 20 Years

Juan Carlos Ruiz Jr., aka “Goer,” of Coalinga, received a 20-year prison sentence for distributing methamphetamine and trafficking in firearms, Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith said Monday.
According to court documents, Ruiz, 26, distributed more than 4 kilograms of methamphetamine and sold 19 firearms over several occasions. Ruiz is also a felon and documented Bulldogs gang member.
Ruiz joins these co-defendants who have been sentenced to prison:
- On March 31, 2025, Javier Alfonso Lopez Lopez was sentenced to four years in prison for conspiracy to manufacture meth.
- On Jan. 6, 2025, Sostenes Quintero Lopez was sentenced to over 10 years in prison for manufacturing and distributing meth.
- On June 24, 2024, Angel Sanchez was sentenced to 14 years in prison for distributing meth and trafficking firearms with his cousin Ruiz.
- On Sept. 25, 2023, Alma Sanchez was sentenced to over 16 years in prison for distributing meth to Ruiz, who is her son.
This case is the result of an investigation by the DEA, Coalinga Police Department, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Tulare County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Unit, and the Fresno Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Antonio J. Pataca is the prosecutor.
