Fresno City Council District 5 candidates shared their thoughts on eviction protection, rent control, and a guaranteed income program at GV Wire’s forum.

The forum included Jose Leon Barraza, a Fresno Parks Commission member; Elizabeth Jonasson Rosas, a Fresno Unified School Board trustee; and Brandon Vang, a Sanger Unified School Board trustee.

They are vying to replace Luis Chavez, who won a seat on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.

The special election is set for March 18, with a runoff possible if no candidate secures a majority.
