Officers with the CHP’s Central Division seized 44 pounds of cocaine, valued at $1.6 million, during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Fresno County, authorities said in a social media post on Friday.

The drugs were discovered on Wednesday after a CHP sergeant stopped a Chrysler Pacifica near Shields Avenue.

Several indicators of criminal activity led to a search of the vehicle, where the cocaine was found in two totes in the rear cargo area, according to CHP.

Ga Hyung Choi, 29, of British Columbia, Canada, was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine for sale and transportation of narcotics.
