Jonathan Perez was found fatally stabbed at a residence Wednesday night, Sept. 11, the Pismo Beach Police Department announced late Monday.

Authorities reported the suspect, Andrew Rodriguez, of Santa Maria, was initially hospitalized in Ventura after a suicide attempt.
Rodriguez, who was treated and released on Sunday, was arrested by detectives.

Rodriguez faces charges for the murder of Perez, with whom he was known to have been acquainted.
Following his arrest, Rodriguez was extradited to San Luis Obispo County and booked into jail without bail.
