Saints Traded up to Grab Haener
Haener led Fresno State to a 10-4 campaign that included a bowl victory over Washington State last season.
The Saints traded up in the fourth round of the NFL draft to grab Haener with the 127th overall pick.
He joined starter Derek Carr, another former Fresno State great, and both Jameis Winston and the versatile Taysom Hill in the Saints’ quarterback room.
Haener played well at times and not so well at other times during the preseason.
His exhibition passing numbers: 38 of 72, 395 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions.
