A task force arrested a 49-year-old Fresno Police Department records clerk on Friday on one felony count of child pornography possession.

Jose M. Gonzalez was booked into Fresno County Jail at 9:21 a.m., and bail was set at $20,000, jail records show.
According to a statement from Fresno PD, detectives arrested Gonzalez at his home in Orange Cove. Gonzalez joined the department in 2016.
Suspect Removed From Job
After the arrest, Gonzalez “was removed” from his job by Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama with the backing of City Manager Georganne White, Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley said.
“All employees of the Fresno Police Department, both sworn and professional, are entrusted with the safety of our community. We take this responsibility very seriously and thoroughly investigate all allegations of misconduct,” Balderrama said.
“The serious allegations against Mr. Gonzalez warranted the investigation by our law enforcement partners … and the initial criminal findings justify our decision to remove him from employment with the City of Fresno.”
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force comprised of detectives from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security, and Fresno PD investigated Gonzalez.
