A hard practice after getting off the plane following a stunning road loss put the Fresno State women’s basketball team back on the winning track.
“We had a good practice the same day we got back from Air Force. We had a good, hard practice and everybody came and responded,” coach Jaime White said after the Bulldogs’ 69-58 victory over Nevada on Saturday at the Save Mart Center.
“That’s what good teams do, that’s what championship teams do. Even though they’re tired, they know what it means, they know we got to get in and get it done.”
The final score wasn’t indicative of Fresno State’s domination before a Senior Crowd of 4,003. The Bulldogs led by as many as 19 points early in the fourth quarter.

Utti Scores 18, Shines on Defense

Junior forward Maddi Utti led the way as the Bulldogs bounced back from their first loss in 59 days at Air Force on Wednesday. Utti scored a game-high 18, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals.
Getting a start in her last home game, senior Jordanna Porter contributed 13 points and made 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
The victory pushed the Mountain West regular-season champion Bulldogs’ record to 16-1 in conference and 23-5 overall.
Essence Booker led Nevada (14-13, 7-9) with 16 points but was just 6 of 19 from the field.
