Former Microsoft executive Jennifer Byrne has joined Fresno-based gigRonin as chairperson for the company’s board of advisors as well as an equity partner, according to a recent news release.

Byrne has more than 20 years experience in the industry, most recently as Microsoft’s chief technology officer, the release said.

“Advanced digital capability is re-defining every aspect of business and is shaping the economy of the future. However, we need to remember that people are at the heart of this transformation.”– Jennifer Byrne, Chairperson for gigRonin’s Board of Advisors

“Advanced digital capability is re-defining every aspect of business and is shaping the economy of the future,” Byrn said in the release. “However, we need to remember that people are at the heart of this transformation.”

According to gigRonin’s website, the company started with three Fresno friends with backgrounds in human resources and technology that wanted to utilize mobile platforms to improve workforce management processes.

“Jennifer brings amazing insights from the highest levels of the tech industry, and we are thrilled to have her wealth of experience as a guide in achieving our goals,” said Tosh Cook, gigRonin’s CEO.

The gigRonin Platform

Their mobile technology platform provides a way for companies “to license flexible software which puts innovative workforce management solutions at their fingertips,” the release said.

Employers can utilize gigRonin to more efficiently complete administrative tasks that usually require manual efforts, such as searching for matching workers or spending time calling and texting to see who is available to work.

If an employee calls out sick, the platform can broadcast shifts in seconds to other employees, allowing employers to cover unexpected needs at any time.
