A 2 a.m. shooting at a Bakersfield marijuana dispensary led to the seizure of six illegal gambling machines by Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the gaming devices were part of an illegal internet casino attached to the dispensary in the 2100 block of River Boulevard.

After receiving a report of a shooting, deputies went to the dispensary and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside of the marijuana dispensary.

The man said he didn’t know the shooter before being taken to a hospital. A post on the sheriff’s Facebook page said that the shooting victim was expected to survive.

Homicide at Same Address in July

The location is the same one where a man was stabbed to death in the parking lot at 1:30 a.m. on July 20. While there, deputies seized illegal casino games.

” It is unknown if these incidents are related at this time,” the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Anyone with information on Tuesday’s shooting or the deadly stabbing is asked to contact the sheriff’s office, (661) 861-3110, or Secret Witness, (661) 322-4040.
