After teaming up with leading recovery footwear brand OOFOS, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has announced the donation of 6,000 shoes to Valley Children’s Hospital.

The hospital’s Vice President and Assistant Chief People Officer Kelly Beall said that many of their healthcare team members work 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts in athletic shoes or clogs.

The footwear is designed for people like healthcare workers or high-performance athletes who spend long hours on their feet and may have a lot of tension and pressure on the soles of their feet.

“Our teams give their all for the children of this region and it is wonderful to have others acknowledge that,” said Beall. “We thank Derek and OOFOS for this generous gift.”

Who Will Benefit From the Donation?

According to Beall, Valley Children’s has close to 3,700 staff members and 700 providers who will all benefit from the donation.

“Thanks to the support of our longtime ambassador – and grateful father – Derek Carr, and to the generosity of OOFOS, all members of our Valley Children’s workforce will benefit from the gift,” said Beall.

The shoes range from $60 to $180 a pair.

“Derek has told us he likes wearing them after a long day on the field, and that they help with his post-workout recovery,” said Beall. “We’re excited for our staff to take them for a walk, too. They work so hard to care for and comfort our kids, so it’s nice to have someone give back to them.”

OOFOS Team Thrilled With Carr Partnership

Carr says he has been wearing OOFOS for several years after athletic trainer Chris Cortez gifted him a pair.

“I feel instant relief when I put them on and can’t imagine not having them available to me for daily use,” said Carr. He also praised the company for its donation.

“I am so happy to be a part of the OOFOS family,” Carr said. “Not only because of their wonderful products and services, but also because of their deep sense of commitment to help communities and others wherever possible.”

The head of marketing for OOFOS, Darren Brown says the company is thrilled to partner with Carr on the donation.

The company offers discounts on the purchase of its shoes by nurses and medical professionals, military personnel, and educators through a partnership with id.me.

OOFOS also donates 2% for every pair sold on OOFOS.com to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund in Boston for patient care and cancer research.
