A Coalinga man was sentenced Friday to 176 years to life in state prison for repeatedly sexually abusing his three stepdaughters and sexually assaulting an adult family friend, according to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.

Josiah Lee Pacheco, 36, received a six-year sentence followed by 170 years to life from Fresno County Superior Court Judge Gabriel Brickey. A jury convicted Pacheco on all eight counts Oct. 8 following a trial that began Sept. 24.

The convictions stemmed from abuse committed between 2018 and 2024, prosecutors said. The children were young when the abuse began, with some younger than 10.

Jurors found Pacheco guilty of five counts of lewd acts upon a child, one count of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child age 10 or younger, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, and one count of sexual battery.

The jury also found multiple-victim enhancements true, and Brickey found all aggravating factors true, according to the district attorney’s office.

Pacheco has a prior strike conviction for mayhem stemming from a 2009 Sutter County case.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Brian Exline, of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit, prosecuted the case with assistance from investigators Erika El-Helou and Lorena Jimenez.
