The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is reporting technical difficulties with its non-emergency phone line Thursday, which may prevent some callers from connecting.

The department said its non-emergency number, (661) 861-3110, remains operational despite the issues.

Officials are asking residents to continue using the number for non-emergency calls.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that its 911 emergency line is unaffected and continues to operate normally.

Residents are reminded to call 911 only for emergencies.

The sheriff’s office said it will provide an update once the technical issues have been resolved.
