Yolked Kitchen will turn part of its dining room into a live art studio next week as local artist and restaurant employee Lolo Hamilton creates a permanent mixed-media mural.

Hamilton will begin work Monday, Sept. 21, on a previously unfinished wall inside the Clovis restaurant, Yolked Kitchen announced.

The restaurant said it intentionally left the wall unfinished for nearly two years while determining how to use the space and managing other startup expenses.

Hamilton, an emerging Clovis artist who works with mixed media, texture, dimensional elements, and contemporary design, was later selected to create the installation.

Yolked Kitchen plans to livestream Hamilton’s work on Instagram from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, allowing viewers to watch the mural take shape, interact with Hamilton, and ask about the inspiration, materials, and techniques behind the piece.

The restaurant will remain open during its regular business hours throughout the project.

“We’ve always believed Yolked Kitchen could be more than a restaurant,” co-owner Falina Marihart said. “This project allows us to support one of our own team members, celebrate local creativity, and share that experience with our community. We’re excited to see this wall finally come to life.”

Marihart owns Yolked Kitchen with John Marihart. The couple also owns 13 Prime Steak.

The completed mural will be unveiled during an artist reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Yolked Kitchen. RSVP is required.

The reception will include complimentary beverages, cocktails available for purchase, a meet-and-greet with Hamilton, the first public viewing of the completed mural, photo opportunities, and networking with community members and arts supporters.

Yolked Kitchen is at 1305 N. Willow Avenue.
