Readers voted Mission Oak kicker Ruben Llamas as the Visalia Times-Delta Tulare County high school athlete of the week.

In an online poll that closed on Sept. 5 Llamas received 208 votes, or a 25.58% majority, of the 813 responses.

Llamas kicked a game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Hawks to a 35-32 road win at San Luis Obispo.

Here’s a look at this school year’s past winners:

  • Aubrianna Huitt, El Diamante volleyball

The poll closes on Friday at noon. There are no restrictions, so vote now and vote often. Please do not email your votes.

Here are the choices for the week of Sept. 2-5:

  • Lana Alipaz, volleyball, Redwood: Alipaz fired 17 kills with two aces and eight digs in a win over Tulare Western.
  • Isaiah Colunga, football, Strathmore: Colunga accounted for four touchdowns (three passing, rushing) as the Spartans defeated Avenal.
  • Taryn Drummonds, volleyball, Tulare Western: Drummonds registered 16 kills to help the Mustangs defeat Golden West. She also had a block.
  • Isaac Oceguera, football, Golden West: Oceguera amassed eight catches for 260 yards and three touchdowns in a victory at Dinuba.
  • Ruben Llamas, football, Mission Oak: Llamas kicked a game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Hawks to a 35-32 road win at San Luis Obispo.
  • Ally Lane, volleyball, Central Valley Christian: Lane blasted 11 kills to lead the Cavaliers to a win against Clovis North.
  • Joscelyn Pena, volleyball, El Diamante: Pena had 33 assists as the Miners topped Exeter.
  • Aidan Perez, football, Woodlake: Perez scored two rushing touchdowns in a shutout win over Exeter.
  • Preston Seechan, football, Tulare Western: Seechan rushed for a game-high 132 yards and a touchdown to anchor the Mustangs to a victory versus CVC.
  • Brayden Stevenson, football, Tulare Union: Stevenson scored four touchdowns (three receiving, punt return) as the Tribe routed El Diamante 61-0.

Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received by Monday morning following that week’s games for consideration.
