A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Los Angeles was arrested Sunday evening in Kings County after a standoff with law enforcement, authorities said.

Around 7 p.m., the Kings County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to the 11900 block of 2nd Place in the Home Gardens area at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department, which had obtained a warrant for the suspect.

Deputies believed the man was inside the residence, prompting a prolonged standoff.

He was eventually located and taken into custody by Kings County deputies with the assistance of a K-9 team, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was booked into the Kings County Jail and awaits extradition to Los Angeles.
