Two suspects were arrested Monday night following a stolen vehicle pursuit and shots fired that began in Tulare County and ended west of Hanford, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

Around 8:30 p.m., the Tulare County Regional Auto Theft Task Force was tracking a stolen vehicle when suspects inside fired multiple rounds in an orchard and at Linnell Camp, according to law enforcement. No injuries were reported.

Linnell Camp is a small community three miles east of Visalia.

The vehicle continued into Visalia, where officers attempted a traffic stop at Tulare Avenue and Demaree Street.

The driver failed to stop, starting a pursuit that ended on Highway 198 in Kings County after Hanford police deployed spike strips.

During the arrest, one suspect fled on foot, but two of the three occupants were taken into custody with assistance from the California Highway Patrol, Kings County Sheriff’s Office, and Hanford Police Department.

Authorities identified the driver as Anthony Rene Tapia, 19, and the passenger as a 16-year-old juvenile. The third suspect remains at large.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Visalia Police Department at (559) 734-8117.
