Two men were arrested on Wednesday, for impersonating federal immigration officers and harassing customers at several local businesses, the Fresno Police Department said in a statement.

Police received multiple reports from community members claiming that the men, dressed as “ICE Agents,” were confronting people and filming the incidents for social media.

Officers located the suspects outside a business in the River Park Shopping Center.

Both men were wearing black tactical vests with patches designed to resemble those of law enforcement and immigration officials.

During the investigation, authorities determined the men had visited eleven businesses, acting as officers and demanding to see business documents under the guise of conducting an investigation.

At one location, they explicitly told employees they needed to see certain documents for an “investigation.”

The suspects were arrested for the misdemeanor charge of impersonating a police officer, authorities said. They were cited and released.

Due to the personal nature of their social media activities, authorities have not disclosed their identities.
