A weekly farmers market with four dozen vendors will debut from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in the heart of the Tower District.
The market — on Olive Avenue from Echo to Wishon — features local vendors selling seasonal produce, crafts, and other products. You’ll also be able to grab a bite from food trucks.
“For years, our Tower District residents have asked for a quality farmers market and better access to fresh fruits and vegetables that add to our local restaurant and nightlife scene,” said District 3 Councilmember Miguel Arias.
“This 52-week farmers market delivers on that desire, and I anticipate a great family experience for everyone who attends, especially our Tower neighbors.”
The market resulted from the efforts of Arias, District 1 Councilmember Annalisa Perea, the Tower District Marketing Committee, and Peter De Young, executive director of the California Fresh Farmers Market Association.
Bus riders should note that FAX stops on Olive Avenue between Van Ness and Palm avenues will be re-routed from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Thursday. (See the chart below for more details).
