Fresno Master Chorale is making statewide history with its upcoming performance of Dan Forrest’s Creation on November 17 — marking the first time this work will be performed in California.
A symphonic masterwork, Creation is Forrest’s latest and most expansive work to date. Inspired by Haydn’s masterpiece The Creation, Forrest has written a modern-day score that captures the immense beauty in the world, in this choral concert with orchestra.
“We are honored to be the first chorale to perform Creation in California,” said Fresno Master Chorale Conductor Anna Hamre. “This is a tremendous opportunity for the Valley to experience a contemporary symphony, and we look forward to this concert celebrating compassion and creativity. Thanks to the community’s support, we are able to continue our legacy of bringing groundbreaking works like Creation to the Central Valley and beyond.”
Fresno Master Chorale’s performance of Creation is on Sunday, November 17, at 2:30 p.m. at Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall in Fresno. Tickets are on sale now for $25, and can be purchased online at fresnocommunitychorus.org.
