Former Fresno State basketball standouts Haley and Hanna Cavinder took to social media this weekend to chide the NCAA for sanctions it imposed over recruiting violations related to the twins’ transfer to the University of Miami last year.

Haley posted a video Saturday on Twitter that featured the twins reacting to the decision to characterize a dinner with a UM booster, who hosted the women and their parents at his home, as a recruiting violation.

The NCAA described the gathering, which took place as the twins were considering transferring to the Hurricanes, as “impermissible contact,” and the chef-prepared dinner as an “inducement.” An investigation found that the get-together with the booster was arranged by head coach Katie Meier, who was penalized with a three-game suspension.

In addition, the UM women’s basketball team was hit with a $5,000 fine and another fine equal to one percent of the program’s budget The program will be on NCAA probation for a year, which comes with restriction on recruiting.

In the video, the twins appear incredulous as they lip-sync lyrics to Chris Brown’s song, “Look at Me Now,” while dancing in what looks to be a UM bathroom.

Their video performance was captioned “BFFR NCAA..,” which includes a popular slang abbreviation for “be f–king for real.”

Hanna reposted her sister’s tweet and the twins shared the clip on their joint TikTok account, which reaches over four million followers.
