Affordability, walkability, and eclectic dining make Clovis one of the top U.S. 100 cities to live in, according to Livability.com.
The website awarded Clovis a score of 751 out of 1,000 for quality of life alongside Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Salt Lake City. Forty-seven cities scored higher than Clovis.
The highest-rated city in California was Elk Grove, a Sacramento suburb, which scored 799.
The website analyzed metrics such as economy, education, cost of living, and transportation. It recognized the city’s low crime rate, excellent schools, and “child-friendly atmospheres.”
“With tree-lined streets and friendly neighbors, Clovis, California, blends small-town charm with modern amenities,” the website said.

Old Town Clovis Boosts the City
The website praised Clovis for its walkability, mentioning Old Town Clovis several times. Clovis’ regular Vintage Market also received accolades.
“Clovis has a historic feel, evident when you spend time in the city’s central district called — you guessed it — Old Town, with cobblestone streets and notable storefronts,” the website stated.
On the dining side, the website noted House of Juju and On the Edge. “Seriously, try one of their signature burgers,” the website enthused about House of Juju.
Clovis Piggybacks on Fresno Universities and Roger Rocka’s
Fresno — which the website didn’t rank — helped boost Clovis’ score with its universities, health care facilities, and recognition for Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater.
The Clovis bike trails, including the Old Town Trail and Dry Creek Trail pushed the transportation score higher.
Looking at a diverse economy and relatively low home prices, Clovis also scored high for its low cost of living. Compared to other Fresno County cities, however, Clovis’ $513,000 median home price is among the highest.
Carmel, Indiana, Cary, North Carolina, Columbia, Maryland, and Fishers, Indiana received the website’s highest scores.
