As of Wednesday afternoon, Sierra National Forest officials announced that the Basin Fire is currently at 92% containment.

There has been a reduction in personnel and equipment. Currently, 614 personnel, seven crews, 31 engines, five helicopters, and 12 dozers are working to contain the fire.

Original Story

The Fresno Sheriff’s Office announced that as of Tuesday evening, the remaining evacuation orders for zones K30 and K40 have been downgraded to evacuation warnings.

Evacuation warnings for zones K29, K41, and K166 have been lifted. However, zone K31 remains under an evacuation warning.

You can track evacuation orders and warnings through the Fresno County Sheriff’s map.

Additionally, all county roadblocks have been removed.

Current Basin Fire Activity

The Basin Fire in the Sierra National Forest has grown to a total of 14,020 acres and is now 85% contained. There are 689 personnel, 11 crews, 33 engines, seven helicopters, and 13 dozers still working on the fire.

As more work is being completed, resources are being released to help with other wildfires.

Despite the extreme heat wave making trees and grasses more susceptible to fire, firefighters have prevented any further spread of the blaze.
