Madera County officials issued an evacuation order Friday for the Sugar Pine area because of the Lewis Fire.
Watch Duty has reported that the Lewis Fire has burned 0.5 acres as of 3:20 p.m.
The order applies to evacuation zone MAD-E0063, officials said.
Officials said that this is an immediate threat to life and that the area will be closed to public access.
Road closures are in effect at Highway 41 and Road 630 as emergency personnel respond to the area.

Update at 4:41 p.m.
Madera County officials said that they have stopped the forward progress of the Lewis Fire. However, the evacuation order is still in place out of caution.
Correction: CalFire misreported the Grade Fire as the active fire in Madera County. The Grade Fire is in San Diego County. Information about the Grade Fire has been removed.
