A man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly breaking through the ceiling of a Fresno plasma donation center, throwing an object at a police officer and flooding the building, according to Fresno police.

GV Wire’s news partner KMPH reported that the man was naked during the incident.

Officers responded around 9 a.m. to the Grifols Biomat USA Plasma center near Blackstone and Dakota avenues after receiving reports of a person possibly inside the building’s ceiling or walls.

Police said a patient was donating plasma when the man suddenly broke through the ceiling.

Officers attempted to negotiate with the man to come out, but he refused and continued moving through the ceiling and walls, police said. During the incident, an officer looked through an opening to determine the man’s location when the suspect threw an object, possibly a pipe, that nearly struck the officer in the head.

Police said the man also broke a pipe while inside the ceiling, causing the building to flood.

The man eventually exited the ceiling but refused officers’ commands, prompting police to deploy pepper balls before taking him into custody.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and trespassing.

Police said officers had responded to the same location about 90 minutes earlier after receiving a report of someone possibly inside the ceiling or walls, but they were unable to find anyone at that time.
