Fresno Fire Department investigators and Fresno Police Department officers served two search warrants Tuesday morning in connection with the illegal sale of fireworks, authorities said.

Officials said the joint operation targeted two separate locations tied to the alleged unlawful distribution of fireworks.

As a result of the search warrants, two individuals were arrested and face felony charges, along with thousands of dollars in fines and citations.

Authorities emphasized that illegal fireworks remain prohibited and warned that their use and sale pose safety risks to neighborhoods and the broader community, particularly during the Fourth of July season.
